During the war in Iraq, Iraqi fighters had no chance against the U.S. tanks with conventional weapons, so they turned to suicide vehicles.
As the U.S. armor was expected to make split second decisions to determine if a car was friend or foe.
When it came time to fire, they used an armor piercing sabot round made of depleted uranium. Without any explosives, the round liquefies it’s target with nothing more than pure kinetic energy.
“You can technically come in with a hose and hose out the enemy tank crew,” said one soldier. “It just annihilates human matter.”
See the round in action with this video from the American Heroes Channel.
